Getting back to it

I’ve been lazy as a writer recently.  I’ve been telling myself that it’s okay because I’ve been working on other projects to try and get “stuff” done.  Which I have, but still, I need to be writing.  I can’t get published if I don’t write.

So, as I was  pondering the beginning of a new month and setting goals a challenge came across my desktop.  Jean over at asked for buddies in editing/revising for the month of June.  How perfect I thought, especially as I’ve entered a contest where the prize is a professional read/critique.  Yeah, apparently 2010 is the year I just jump without thinking too hard about it.  Kim says it’s something about turning 40, so I’m going to blame that.  If that fails . . . well maybe I’ll just blame Kim.  😉

Of course as I putter around here together trying to gain a small amount of control over the mayhem I was going to pull out the story I submitted and get back into it.  Yeah, best laid plans of mice and men being as it is I had some details fall out of the internet for the story I was suppose to be working on.  I have a feeling I’m going to be working on both stories this month.  We’ll see how well that goes.

So anyone up for a little writing/editing/revising adventure in June?

  1. You’re turning 40? For some reason I thought you were like 10 years younger than me. It makes me feel a little better knowing I’m not the only still-unpublished-wannabe-novelist approaching the big four oh.

But yes! Join us, fellow writers and Wiffers! Here’s where to sign up, with further elaboration on the challenge, both in the post and in the comments:

  2. Yup, I’m hitting that milestone soon (8/8). Glad it makes you feel better. ;p Oh and I’m not the oldest unpublished Wiffer so . . . we have company.

  3. You’re going to do awesome with the June challenge, so go you!!! If I do anything, it’ll probably be SocNoc, but I’m not sure yet. I may just end up challenging myself and see how that goes.

    Good luck!

  4. Thanks Pam!

I’d forgotten all about SocNoc. I think I fell off that mailing list when the switch-over thingy happened here not too long ago. Besides, I’ve had spotty results with things like that.
